IC; musical discussion and double date with Kurt, Blaine, and Emily

[there are drinks lined up over the bar, but they're all virgin, for the sake of remaining sober during this discussion. Santana is rested up on the end furthest away from Emily with her eyes on Kurt, as she's looking at him with an indication of "get on with it." even though they've only been set up for two minutes, she's already growing impatient. like most times of the day, it's not difficult to find themselves alone in the bar, either. so it goes]

I think half the reality of this place is getting half-way there and not being able to finish. A fixture of society is sex, and it's the same here, no matter what any of you believe.

[curls into Emily and brushes her hair off her shoulder to dip down against her neck]

And you can play with it in little ways ...

[inhales against her neck and kisses the skin lightly down toward her collarbone, with her hand resting against her abdomen beneath her breasts and then sliding down a little]

Without giving them too much of a show. Right, Emily?

[pulls back fully with the question and looks directly at the boys]

[takes a couple of steps away from the couch and looks between Kurt and Blaine and definitely not at Santana] Where's the bathroom?

That's a good question, actually.

It's downstairs to the right.

Santana...

[looking from Santana to Kurt, sensing the tension level]

[doesn't move, but grits his teeth and speaks firmly]

Stay here, Santana.

... Right, I'll wait until she gets back. I wouldn't want to be left alone with her.

[stands up and moves around Santana, stopping in the way to the stairs]

Are you going to tell me what you just tried to do here? And don't say kissing down her neck because I could see that.

I was getting close to my date for the night. Wasn't that what you wanted?

No, I don't recall asking you to demonstrate sensuality on Emily at any point of the day, actually.

What I do recall is advising you to let her call the shots for once. So, what was that just now all about? Is that how badly you don't want to be here?

I don't remember agreeing to listen to Dr. Hummel's love advice for the evening.

What do you want, Kurt? Maybe it turns out that Emily and I aren't meant to be like you wanted. Now we know, I don't get kicked out of the musical, and life moves on.

[narrows eyes]

You don't really think you get to humiliate Emily in front of Blaine and me, and still be part of the musical like nothing happened, do you.

... We are not doing this again. I'm leaving.

[walks down the stairs and opens the door to the cabin]

Stop. Both of you. That is enough.

Kurt, you're not kicking Santana out of here or the musical over something stupid like this. She wants to be in it, and you want her in it too. If you have some other problem, you can work it out between yourselves, but let's get something straight. Me? Not humiliated. I needed a little air, but I'm a big girl, and I can take care of myself. So if she goes now, I go too, okay?

Santana, you and I can talk later. So for now, how about we all go back to our seats and finish the movie. It will be fun.

[raises his eyebrows and squares his shoulders, then, slowly, lets out a breath and closes the door before turning to Santana, clearly waiting to see her reaction]

[... busy being all ♥_♥, one second, Kurt]

... You heard her, Kurt. She probably used up all her spine-growing tablets to say that, and we shouldn't deny the girl.

Oh, and it's probably a good idea to stop deciding other people's feelings for them and what you think is best. It's bound to blow up in your face and that makes for bad cast dynamics.

[shakes his head and indicates with his arm for the girls to go upstairs, choosing not to engage Santana this time]

We may as well finish watching the movie.

[looks back and forth between them for a moment and then nods]

Good.

[she can apologize to Kurt later for snapping at them like that, but things were getting ugly and she needed to act fast... anyway, starting to head back upstairs]

I think it's time we broke out the shots. Kurt looks like he needs them and it'll be a lot funner here with it.
