IC; musical discussion and double date with Kurt, Blaine, and Emily

[there are drinks lined up over the bar, but they're all virgin, for the sake of remaining sober during this discussion. Santana is rested up on the end furthest away from Emily with her eyes on Kurt, as she's looking at him with an indication of "get on with it." even though they've only been set up for two minutes, she's already growing impatient. like most times of the day, it's not difficult to find themselves alone in the bar, either. so it goes]

[watching that and then turning his face towards Blaine's, raising his eyebrows and tilting his head towards the girls]

[turns and looks. grins as he turns back to Kurt, taking his hand and falling into a slow dance. speaks close to Kurt's ear so only he can hear]

[LEADING this dance, but it's mostly just her being really close to Emily]

[for a second she just keeps dancing but she slowly moves in closer, pausing just shy of her lips... less because she cares about Kurt and Blaine seeing this and more because she thinks Santana might care]

[satisfied with a job well-done, drops his head on Blaine's shoulder, holding him close and swaying to the music . . .

. . . until he abruptly opens his eyes and raises an eyebrow at the explosive laughter coming from the laptop]

[looks from the girls over to the computer and chuckles a little at the cause of the sudden noise. keeps Kurt close though, not swayed by the distraction]

[yeah, okay. just going to tug on Blaine's hand and take him downstairs. he figures both couples would like some privacy now.]

[heads downstairs with Kurt, moving towards a little sitting area with a few couches and chairs. all designer of course. sits down on one, and pulls Kurt with him, still speaking quietly even though the girls probably can't hear them anymore]

You did good.

You know I'd take credit if I could, but this was all Emily. After she tore both of us a new one, Santana looked like she was reading a love letter from Breadstix. It'll be months of "it's complicated" before they become Facebook official, though. Santana's got a lot to work through.

[wrapping his arms around Kurt and speaking into his neck, clearly a little buzzed, but not drunk]

Maybe so, but you got them here at the same time. You deserve a little credit.

[nosing what he can reach of Blaine's cheek and temple, pressing his lips to Blaine's skin but not really kissing]

Yes, but I had to threaten to boot Santana off twice. And this is only the first day. I need to figure out a way to keep her from acting out and trying to take charge of everything. I want her to stay, but it's my play.
