IC; musical discussion and double date with Kurt, Blaine, and Emily

[burgercraving]

[there are drinks lined up over the bar, but they're all virgin, for the sake of remaining sober during this discussion. Santana is rested up on the end furthest away from Emily with her eyes on Kurt, as she's looking at him with an indication of "get on with it." even though they've only been set up for two minutes, she's already growing impatient. like most times of the day, it's not difficult to find themselves alone in the bar, either. so it goes]

[takes his place in the armchair again, silently replying to Blaine's earlier question by raising his eyebrows and tilting his head towards Emily like "you heard her", then mouths "no"]

[just nods at Kurt in understanding, putting an arm around him before changing his expression and smiling back at the girls]

Only if he wants to, but I'm definitely up for a few rounds.

Well, it looks like there's plenty if you change your mind, Kurt.

Really, you should start drinking now. After a couple weeks of putting on a production, you'll find that having built up a decent tolerance will be important.

You know, that's not a bad idea. I call dibs on what's left of the bottles on account of director's rights.

[grins and presses a kiss to Kurt's temple]

So, what do we want to start with? Do we have any tequila?

We grabbed some limes and salt for tequila and some whiskey since Dante'd be mad if we left without any.

Are we going to finish watching Grease or should I put on some music instead?

I'd say just leave it, it's not like Grease is going to be negatively effected by a little alcohol.

Yeah, we can always start some music afterward if we want to.

[looks to Santana] And you're going to have to show me the salt and lime thing. I've never done that before.

[makes a pfft noise] Okay, officially washing my hands off whatever happens.

[grins at Kurt, squeezing him closer playfully]

It almost sounds like you think we'll embarrass you.

Exactly. So it's a moot point.

[slumps against Blaine's chest, leaving room for him to move his arms]

So who's pouring? Santana, you seem like the tequila expert.

[then leans in near Kurt's ear quietly]

You sure you won't have even one?

[to Santana] Do you mind?

Of course not. I'm here to be the educator.

[she sets up four shots, because Kurt might change his mind at any second, and then sets about the rest of the preparations. the bar, no matter how dingy it is, already had limes sliced, and she uses a small salt shaker to do the rest. she licks her hand, puts the salt on it, licks it off, takes the shot, and then finishes off with the lime.

even Santana winces in the process, but she recovers with a confident ... Santana-smirk]

[looks at Blaine with an eyebrow raised, amused at the turn the proceedings have taken]

[licks between his thumb and index finger, putting salt on the stripe he's wetted, and holding it up to Blaine]

[smirks] If you insist.

[reaches to pick up a shot and a lime from the table. takes a hold of Kurt's hand and pulls it the rest of the way to his mouth, looking up at Kurt as he sucks the salt, flicking his tongue out to make sure he got all of it, you know, just in case. afterwards, he takes his shot and bites into the lime, scrunching his eyes shut at the burn and then grinning]

I think that's the first time I've ever had a tequila shot the way you're supposed to do it.

[that gets a curious little eyebrow raise, but then she follows suit, taking a few seconds afterward to make a face and let out a long breath]

Is that the other way you mentioned? [nods toward the boys while looking at Santana]

... Close, but not quite. I don't think you're ready for a demonstration.

[grinning as well, why oh why is he in such a good mood?]

She probably needs to drink more.

And Blaine, given your track record, you probably just don't remember if you've ever done this before.
