IC; musical discussion and double date with Kurt, Blaine, and Emily
[there are drinks lined up over the bar, but they're all virgin, for the sake of remaining sober during this discussion. Santana is rested up on the end furthest away from Emily with her eyes on Kurt, as she's looking at him with an indication of "get on with it." even though they've only been set up for two minutes, she's already growing impatient. like most times of the day, it's not difficult to find themselves alone in the bar, either. so it goes]

Well... that's definitely well-known, and a lot of things happen there. But it's still essentially just a place to serve food. You said something about bizarre creatures, Kurt. Is that what you want to go for with the locations as well? The stranger ones?

I see your point about the Mess Hall, Emily. It doesn't make for exciting scenery. I'd thought of the center of camp as a regular setting, with perhaps the showers for the always welcome homoerotic hints, and a more dramatic setting for the climax.

The showers? I'm not going to object, but how are you going to work that in, exactly?

Oh, I know what we could do for the third setting. There's that creepy fair that popped up out of nowhere and seems to be run entirely by zombies. Perfect place for a showdown.

What's the showdown about?

. . . The story is, tentatively, about a group of campers who band together to take the barrier down. I haven't decided on a villain yet, but I don't think I'll go with the speakers or the director. The former are too intangible, and the latter is too realistic. Expect there to be changes in upcoming weeks, however. I have yet to get ahold of someone who can tell me more about this place.

Intangible could work until the end though, like a disembodied voice and then in the final showdown introduce who it's been the whole time. Not entirely original, but effective.

I might be able to write both ideas in. The character could seem to be sympathetic at first, while using other means to communicate as the villain until the reveal. Or maybe we could have two characters, with the disembodied voice being the second in command . . . But that's too close to the reality of camp. What do you think, Blaine?

Okay, well if you're going for something further from reality, Santana's idea could work. Definitely.

Multiple shower scenes? Really? That feels like a very different kind of play.
