All right, wow, first, I need to change my default icon ...
But beyond that, I'll be updating Santana to season four, episode four. The reason I waited so long is because taking a codependent character and sticking them in camp without their partner is a pretty terrible idea, and I could've just did her to the first episode, but at least this gives me leeway to update later. This is making Santana leap from episode 2x22 to 4x4, so it's a pretty big leap.
Between then and now:
- Santana got kicked off the cheerleading squad and then let back on.
- She left the Glee club to help form the Troubletones ... and then after being the only good part of S3, they had to give up and come back to New Directions.
- She started dating Brittany.
- She got outed by Finn Hudson. And then sang to and told that they were worried she wouldn't accept herself even if she was outed against her own will. Yay.
- She got disowned by her grandmother.
- She became an active part of the Glee club in a really positive way after coming back, "befriending" Kurt to help take revenge against Sebastian. (Additional scenes show that this was definitely a case of "befriending" instead of befriending.)
- She got Mr. Schue to no longer be the Spanish teacher because she cares about her heritage in an ep that was honestly pretty culturally offensive.
- She got the school to get over her and Brittany kissing.
- ... Karofsky stuff goes here ...
- Quinn got into a car accident.
- Santana apparently has no logical future and wants only to be famous and also there was a sex tape??? I actually can't tell you if this is out of order as I can't rewatch that terrible ep.
- Santana and Rachel became friends and it mimicked mine and Francy's threads. They sang romantic songs at each other.
- Santana and Brittany went to prom together. Brittany planned it. Santana was mortified by Blaine's hair. Quinn won prom queen but Santana and Quinn decided to give it to Rachel because ~Rachel Berry~. They then sang a duet together.
- Domestic abuse ep goes here that I also didn't rewatch because Santana was also OOC in it. This may also be out of order.
- They went to Nationals and won! And graduated.
- And Santana got money to go to New York and follow her dream (and Rachel Berry) and hasn't yet for some reason because she likes college. Which is logical because ... she had intended to go to college in the first place.
- She's been busy being an awesome cheerleader and being a bad girlfriend to Brittany. She's jealous of Kurt's success.
- Oh, and she and Brittany broke up and it gave me feelings, but yeah.
The long and short of it is that Santana has been through a lot and while I've tried to fabricate some of it, there's still a sense of "it's different back home" for Santana that I wouldn't be able to do that with her. So, I'm finally updating her. She's gone through a lot in camp, so the two finally colliding is going to lead to a different Santana. More mature, more put together, etc. This is a Santana who's actually been in a relationship and hasn't cheated. This is a Santana who likes going to college. And someone who is relatively mature and capable of reading things and being really ... on top of it.
She's still Santana, but she's changed a lot. Her "attacks" are more grounded and more founded in reality. She can still be defensive, but she's a lot more confident and put together. Mostly, she is actually less mean for the sake of being mean. She'll still have zingers, but they'll be less directed for the sake of harm unless someone really pisses her off.
